Britneys Comeback: Die Reaktionen!

Britneys Auftritt bei den Video Music Awards von MTV in Las Vegas in der vergangenen Nacht war ein Flop. Monsieur Fischers Zusammenfassung der ganzen Veranstaltung gibts hier. Das Comeback von Britney Spears scheint fürs erste gescheitert. Zumindest wenn man den US-amerikanischen Zeitungen - und der restlichen Medienwelt - glaubt, die alle nicht gerade zimperlich mit Brit umgehen. Ein paar Beispiele gefällig?

Entertainement Weekly: "We saw a tentative, confused-looking girl who could barely muster the energy to mouth along with the backing track, let alone work those stilleto boots. Britney, if you're gonna lip-synch, at least be entertaining!"

USA Today: "Meltdown: None. Her gyrations were hardly demure, though oddly half-hearted. Song: Oops, she forgot to bring one. Truly forgettable!"

Associated Press: "Somewhere, Kevin Federline is laughing. An out-of-shape, out-of-touch Britney Spears delivered what was destined to be the most talked about performance of the MTV Video Music Awards — but for all the wrong reasons."

BBC News: "She moved slowly around the stage while appearing to mime to a backing track."

Reuters: "She moved slowly around the stage at the Palms casino, often with the aid of her dancers. She appeared to be miming to a backing track. At one stage, the camera panned to rapper 50 Cent, sitting in the audience, who looked bewildered by the action on stage."

The Post Chronical: "What the hell was that? With all the hype about her performance, we were really looking for something spectacular... but what we saw looked more like a very bad amateur act!"

Sogar in China wird über den Auftritt berichtet, so schreibt die Zeitung Xinhua: "In a black bikini Britney Spears opened MTV's Video Music Awards. Not as fit as she was in her "...Baby One More Time" days."

Bleibt abzuwarten wie Britney Spears mit diesem medialen Rückschlag umgeht. Die letzten Monate haben sie uns nicht gerade als besonders stabil und immun gegen Kritik gezeigt.
